Brazilian Heavy Trinidad Espiritu Series No. 2 Ships to Retail – Cigar Aficionado
If you couldn’t make it to South America this year for Carnival, Altadis has brought a bit of Brazil to you. The second installment of the Trinidad Espiritu Series began shipping to retailers last week, and this new cigar showcases Brazilian tobacco. Unlike the all-Nicaraguan Series No. 1, which came out in 2019, this follow-up blend consists of a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and filler from Nicaragua and Brazil.
The Brazilian-heavy Series No. 2 comes in five sizes: Robusto, measuring 5 inches by 50 ring gauge; Toro, at 6 by 54; Belicoso, 6 1/8 by 52; Magnum, 6 by 60 and Fundador, 7 1/2 by 40. Suggested retail prices range from $9.90 to $10.90 per cigar, and all come in colorful, festive boxes of 20.
Made in Nicaragua by A.J. Fernandez, this brand is a collaboration between Fernandez and Rafael Nodal, head of product capability for Tabacalera USA.
The Trinidad Espiritu Series No. 2 (just like all non-Cuban Trinidads) is owned and distributed by Altadis U.S.A., a subsidiary of Tabacalera USA.
