A Jar of Vintage Cuban Montecristos Just For Spain – Cigar Aficionado

A Jar of Vintage Cuban Montecristos Just For Spain

The jar contains 19 Montecristo No. 1 cigars made in 2008. Only 2,000 jars were produced.

Retailers in Spain recently received ceramic jars filled with 19 Cuban Montecristo No. 1 cigars from 2008. This limited-edition release is the newest in Spain’s Vintage Collection, a series of decorative jars filled with aged Cubans packaged exclusively for the Spanish market.

Each jar was made in Talavera de la Reina, a city in Toledo, Spain, known for its fine porcelain and pottery. Retailing for 290.70 euro (about $324), the jar of smokes was glazed and painted to resemble the designs found on the old, antique Partagás cigar jars of the last century.

The jar contains 19 Montecristo No. 1s made in 2008. These 11-year-old lonsdales measure 6 1/2 inches by 42 ring gauge and each is adorned with a secondary band. Only 2,000 jars were produced.

This release is the eighth edition of Spain’s Vintage Collection, which has included ceramic jars of Partagás 8-9-8, Punch Punch, Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 1 and Trinidad Robusto Extra.
