Punch La Isla comes packaged in slide-lid, wooden boxes that contain 10 smokes each.

A Punch robusto made exclusively for Cuba is now available in all La Casa del Habano and specialty cigar shops throughout the island nation. Called La Isla, which translates to “the island,” the new Regional Edition Punch measures 4 7/8 inches by 50 ring gauge, which is a standard robusto format in Cuban cigar factories.

The Punch La Isla is the fifth Regional Edition cigar made exclusively for Cuba. It comes packaged in slide-lid, wooden boxes that contain 10 smokes each.

Previous Regional Editions made just for Cuba include the La Gloria Cubana Deliciosos (2009), El Rey del Mundo Infantes (2013), Diplomaticos Excelencia (2015) and the Saint Luis Rey Marquéz (2016). A press release from worldwide Cuban cigar distributor Habanos S.A. also makes mention of a sixth Regional Edition for Cuba—the San Cristobal de La Habana Cabaña—but it has yet to be seen.

The Punch La Isla follows a series of unique, Regional-Edition cigars released around the world this year, such as the U.K.’s El Rey del Mundo La Reina, the Punch Duke for Mexico (93 points) and the Saint Luis Rey Herfing made exclusively for the Middle East (92 points).

Cuba’s Regional Edition program started in 2005 giving different global distributors the opportunity to sell unique cigars made exclusively for their respective markets.
