Aganorsa Adds Supreme Leaf Toro, Casa Fernandez Aniversario Returns – Cigar Aficionado

Aganorsa Leaf is adding a new size to Supreme Leaf, a brand that debuted last year with only one size and a vibrant color scheme. The company is also going to begin shipping this year’s version of Casa Fernandez Aniversario.

The new Supreme Leaf Toro measures 6 inches by 54 ring gauge and is rolled with the same, all-Nicaraguan blend as the original. The cigars are wrapped in dark, Nicaraguan Corojo ’99 wrapper. All of the tobacco in the cigar was grown by Aganorsa, the agricultural arm of owner Eduardo Fernández’s Nicaraguan conglomerate.

Aganorsa plans to start shipping 1,500 boxes of the new size in July. The smokes will carry a suggested retail price of $10.50.

Aganorsa Aniversario

The Casa Fernandez Aniversario is box-pressed in a 109-style, belicoso head.

The company is also bringing back its limited Casa Fernandez Aniversario. Now in its third year, the Aniversario is extremely limited due to the fact that it’s rolled only by one torcedor in the company’s Miami factory.

This year’s version is called Casa Fernandez Aniversario Cuban 109 and measures 6 1/4 inches by 54 ring gauge. The cigar is box-pressed and finished in a 109-style, belicoso head that is more rounded and less tapered at the top than traditional pirámides. Rolled entirely with Nicaraguan tobacco, the cover leaf is dark, shade-grown Corojo.

Retailing for the suggested price of $13.09 per cigar, the new Aniversario size comes in 10-count boxes and will begin shipping in July.
