Cyril Ramaphosa will have to watch his back as the succession battle heats up as the party prepares for its National General Council later this year, writes Aubrey Matshiqi.

There is an extent to which President Cyril Ramaphosa cannot do what he wants because of three albatrosses that weigh heavily around his neck.

First, not only is he not his own man, he is beholden to economic and political interests to which he is little more than a ventriloquist’s doll.
