Curtis Jones Treated Champions League Knockout Tie Like It Was A Five-A-Side Game At Powerleague – SPORTbible

Curtis Jones put on a very impressive showing for Liverpool as they returned to winning ways against RB Leipzig last night.

After a difficult period, the Reds ran out 2-0 winners in Budapest courtesy of goals from Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.

But it was local lad and academy product Jones who lit up the Puskas Arena with a wonderful performance. The 20-year-old is becoming an important player in the middle of the park for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Playing against a side who have beat Spurs and Manchester United in European competition in recent times, Jones looked so comfortable that he probably could have sat in a deck chair chonging on a cuban cigar.

He constantly demanded the ball and he was the one making things happen in midfield. Not afraid to bust out a trick or flick, you could be forgiven for thinking Jones was playing at Powerleague on a Tuesday night – and not the highest level of European club football.

Thanks to some slack defending, Jones even got himself assist for his long punt up the pitch that led to Mane bagging a crucial away goal.

And fans were in awe of a brilliant display from Jones, who is now really coming to his own.

This was his 40th appearance for the Toxteth youngster and he now looks more than ready to start in the biggest games for Liverpool.

With the way he’s going, a call-up to the England squad might not be too far away too.
