Habanos SA Adding H. Upmann Connossieur No.2, Preview in Germany Later This Month (Update) – halfwheel.com

There is a new vitola coming to the H. Upmann Connossieur line, and as would be fitting in a pandemic world, it will get its first preview via a virtual event later this month.

5th Avenue Products Trading-GmbH, the distributor of Habanos S.A. products in Germany, Austria and Poland, will be hosting the online event where the H.Upmann Connossieur No.2 will be previewed ahead of its actual release. As previously noted, it is being offered in a new vitola that measures measures 5 1/4 inches (134mm) with a 51 ring gauge, making it slightly larger than the traditional robusto size. It is a new vitola for Habanos S.A. that has been named Bohemio.

Like the other cigars in the H. Upmann Connossieur line, it will be packaged in 25-count slide-lid boxes.

According to Christoph Puszkar, marketing director for 5th Avenue Products, it will be available for consumers to purchase right after the launch in both Germany and Austria. In Germany, pricing is set at €13.50 ($15.97) per cigar, or €337.50 ($399.06) per box.

When it will become available in other parts of the world has yet to be announced.

The event will be streamed on 5th Avenue’s website on Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. local time, or 1 p.m. ET and 10 a.m. PT, though it will be held completely in German. The distributor produced 350 event kits containing the cigar, chocolate and a spirit, all of which have been claimed.

When released, it will become the fourth vitola to wear the H. Upmann Connossieur name. The original H. Upmann Connossieur No.1, a 5 x 48 corona extra, dates to before 1960 and is still sold today. The second vitola, the H. Upmann Connossieur A, is a 5 1/2 x 52 robusto extra that debuted in 2013. In 2018, the H. Upmann Connossieur B was released as an exclusive to La Casa del Habano franchises. It is a 5 7/8 x 54 robusto extra that wears a secondary gold band with the LCDH logo.
