Perdomo Sending 20th Anniversary Maduro & Sun Grown Belicosos to Smoke Inn’s The Great Smoke – halfwheel – halfwheel.com
Perdomo Cigars is sending a pair of limited edition vitolas to Smoke Inn for the retailer’s The Great Smoke event, which has gone to a virtual event this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 20.
The company is releasing a 6 x 54 belicoso in its 20th Anniversary Maduro and Sun Grown lines. Both cigars are priced at $10 per cigar, with production limited to 50 boxes of 10 cigars for each version. They are only being made available to the event’s ticket holders.
The Perdomo 20th Anniversary line debuted in 2012 as the company celebrated 20 years of being in business. Both the Maduro and Sun Grown lines are Cuban-seed Nicaraguan puros, that the company describes as medium to full-bodied. The wrappers for both varietals get aged in bourbon barrels prior to being rolled, with the Sun Grown leaf getting 10 months of aging and the Maduro getting 14 months, a process that the company says brings out the spiciness of the Sun Grown leaf and the rich, natural sweetness of the Maduro.
Additionally, both blends draw on tobaccos that have been aged for eight years and high-priming tobaccos for the binder and filler.
Perdomo also offers its 20th Anniversary line in an Ecuadorian Connecticut-wrapped version, though it is not part of this limited release.
