Trinidad Espiritu Series No. 2 Goes to Brazil – Cigar Aficionado

Trinidad Espiritu is preparing to launch its second series, this time with a focus on Brazilian tobacco. The Trinidad Espiritu Series No. 2 consists of a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and filler from Nicaragua and Brazil. It’s a follow-up to last year’s Trinidad Espiritu Series No. 1, which was made entirely from Nicaraguan leaf.

The Brazilian-based Series No. 2 comes in five sizes: Robusto, measuring 5 inches by 50 ring gauge; Toro, at 6 by 54; Belicoso, 6 1/8 by 52; Magnum, 6 by 60 and Fundador, 7 1/2 by 40. When the cigars ship in January, suggested retail prices will range from $9.90 to $10.90 per cigar.

All come in colorful, festive boxes of 20, much like the previous Trinidad Espiritu release. It should be noted that Series No. 2 is not replacing Series No. 1. Both will be produced and circulated throughout the market simultaneously.

Made in Nicaragua by A.J. Fernandez, this brand is a collaboration between Fernandez and Rafael Nodal, head of product capability for Tabacalera USA.

The Trinidad Espiritu Series No. 2 (just like all non-Cuban Trinidads) are owned and distributed by Altadis U.S.A., a subsidiary of Tabacalera USA.
