U.S. Bans Flights to All Cuban Cities Except Havana – Cigar Aficionado

The United States Department of Transportation announced tonight that it was banning scheduled flights between the United States and all Cuban cities, except for Havana. The move, which will go into effect on December 10, is part of the continuing crackdown by the Trump administration on Cuba to reverse the policies of the previous administration, which was seeking to bring the two countries closer together.

In a statement, the U.S. said it was making the move “to prevent the Cuban regime from profiting from U.S. air travel.”

Commercial flights to Jose Martí International Airport in Cuba’s capital city of Havana will continue.

The move will affect such cities as Camaguey, Holguin and Santa Clara.

This is a breaking news situation; look for more information soon.
